More than 6,000 NSW small businesses have already registered for the Energy Efficiency for Small Business program.  On average, businesses have identified electricity savings of $1,400 and 10 tonnes of carbon pollution a year.

Advantage Energy Assessors are on the approved NSW Government panel to provide energy assessments to small and medium business in NSW and to assist them to implement improved retrofits to reduce energy consumption and save money.  The program is a subsidised energy assessment and provides access to government funding towards the costs of retrofits.

EESBP
The Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program is available to businesses that use up to approximately $20,000 in electricity a year or have up to about 10 fulltime employees.

The program offers:

a subsidised energy assessment and tailored energy action plan

50% off installation costs up to $5,000 (for businesses using $5,000-$20,000 a year in electricity) and up to $2,000 (for businesses using less than $5,000 a year in electricity)

Businesses get up to four hours free support to coordinate installation.  Assistance is provided to get quotes, oversee work and complete paperwork, freeing up your time to focus on your business.

So, if you are thinking about upgrading equipment such as lighting, air conditioning, hot water, insulation or commercial refrigeration, you will only have to contribute half the cost towards your energy efficiency improvements*.
